๐ The story
Begin in gaslit 1890, and march your bloodline forward one decade at a time โ through wars, women's suffrage, the arrival of electricity and the telephone, all the way to the present day. Each decade rewrites the rules your family must live by. It's part legacy, part history lesson, and one of the most beloved sagas in the whole game.
๐ The goal
Live from the **1890s to the present day**, one decade per generation, following era-accurate rules for each.

๐ก Setup
๐ Getting started
- Create one young-adult founder or a married young-adult couple (you may add a parent for an authentic multi-generational 1890s home). Use only your starting funds.
- Money cheats are allowed **only as a repayable loan** โ pay it back, plus 10% interest, before your founders die.
โจ๏ธ Cheats to type
testingcheats true๐ General rules
- Each decade has its own rules on careers, aspirations, clothing, objects and technology โ research and honour them.
- No cheats except the repayable starter loan.
- Advance one decade per generation.
โจ Specific rules
- **Technology gating:** no electricity in the 1890s (candles and lanterns); cell phones and computers are heavily restricted until the decades they'd actually exist (a computer may stand in for a "typewriter" for writing only).
- **The wars:** for WWI (1910s), WWII, Korea and Vietnam, eligible Sims are "sent to war" โ simulated by feeding them a slice of **Cowplant** cake and rolling a die (odds = they die, evens = they return, traumatised, gaining a negative trait). Grow your Cowplant before 1910.
- **Era-specific life rules** (inheritance, who may work, who may marry) change each decade to reflect the period โ adapt them to your comfort.
โ What you can do
- Use money cheats only as a repayable 'loan' โ pay it back plus 10% interest before the founders die.
- Use a Cowplant and a die roll for the war mechanic (odds die, evens return traumatised); use `bb.moveobjects`.
- Adapt or drop any era rule you're not comfortable with โ the creators explicitly don't condone the historical restrictions.
โ What you can't do
- No electricity in the 1890s; cell phones and computers stay locked until the decades they'd exist.
- No cheats except the repayable starter loan.
- Advance only one decade per generation โ no skipping ahead.

๐ฎ If you don't own the packs
Fully base-game (the Cowplant is base-game). Era-flavour packs like Seasons add immersion but nothing is required.
๐ก Strategy tips
- Grow a healthy Cowplant *well* before 1910 โ the war mechanic depends on it, and a hungry household can lose it.
- Tackle one decade's custom content and rules at a time rather than prepping all fourteen at once.
- Use the **likes/dislikes** system to stop Sims autonomously using anachronistic objects (set a 1920s Sim to dislike gaming, for instance).

๐ฅ Want it harder?
- Play one of the **extended** versions that begin in the 1700s (or even the 1300s) with extra historical death-rolls.
- Track exact in-game years and age Sims up precisely to the calendar.
๐ญ Variations
Localise it to your own country's history, or run a "soft" aesthetic-only version that keeps the era looks but drops the harsher rules. ---
